There are two cottages, only one of which is available at any given time.Occasionlly both units may be available: please inquire if your party numbers 6 persons.The main house cottage is the front of the house, including a master-bedroom and bath, and a kitchen/dining area and formal livingroom overlooking the pool.The second cottage is the renovated bedroom wing of the house: built off to one side of the property (not behind the Main House cottage) the bedroom wing has a main floor bath, bedroom, kitchen and livingroom, with a pretty second bedroom above the livingroom area,overlooking the ocean and an enclosed cobbled courtyard, made private with walls and greenery and a shady tree where you can barbecue, enjoy the stars, the dawn and the views of the ocean. description:The old town of St. Georges features many attractions. Every Tuesday night when the cruise ships arrive there are vendors in the Town Square and the shops stay open until 9 pm. There are walking tours daily and a special re-enactment of the old ducking stool - a punishment reserved for nagging or gossiping women from a long time ago! Every street offers wonderful old houses perched right on the road allowance or set deep in lush gardens. Many buildings are old, dating from the 1600's and 1700's. Development in the old town has been restricted so one has the pleasure of savoring an historical setting unmarred by inappropriate development. There are museums, old government buildings and meeting halls, and handsome forts to explore in St. Georges, as well as the replica of the small ship that rescued the early settlers- this is a particular hit with children, we find... The oldest church in the Western hemisphere is the truly lovely St. Peters Church with its exceptional timbered interiors, handsome collections of silver and furniture, and the flanking graveyard that holds so many of the island's earliest settlers.Good shopping, restaurants, the waterfront, museums, churches, beautiful beaches and the St. George's golf course are all located within walking distance. St. George's has every convenience for the visitor combined with a beautiful harbour setting. There is a mini-bus service provided in the St. George area for a nominal charge, and the main bus service is about a 5 minute walk and will take you to all points on the island. For the independent adventurer, there are several cycle liveries close by for those wanting to rent scooters or pedal bikes. description:We are pleased to let you know that we have completed renovations at our cottage at Marley Beach, and will be offering the Studio for rent on a weekly basis to visitors during the summer months, and on a monthly basis during the winter months! We know this will be great news for those of you who have vacationed at Marley before, and we look forward to welcoming you back to our incredibly beautiful, private and very special spot in Bermuda. The Studio is a large studio unit with a fully-equipped kitchen (fridge, stove/oven, microwave, coffeemaker), a large bed/sitting room with either king or twin beds, two armchairs, a dining table and chairs, flat-screen TV (w/cable) and internet access. Outside are a patio overlooking the beach, barbeque, table, chairs and umbrella. New windows, new air conditioning has been installed. The Studio is available from Sunday to Sunday at a rate of $2,500 per week or any part thereof, from June 1 through October (and May 1 through October next year). The monthly rate during the winter months is $4,000 per month, November through April. This rate is all inclusive and includes transportation to and from the airport. There are no additional service charges or taxes. There is maid service one day during the week, and you will have use of the laundry room and access to clean sheets, towels, etc. The beach at Marley is lovely and the scenery and ocean views are breathtaking. Nice places to dine would include the family style Paraquet Cafe , Fourways Inn on Middle Road, Elbow Beach Hotel which has the Sea Horse Grill and also Lido and Mickeys which is on Elbow Beach and the new Swizzle Inn West on South Shore Road, which is only a 5 minute walk from Marley Beach. Prettily furnished, it is designed with the visitor in mind who is coming for more than a weekend. The homeowner prefers visits of a 7 days or more. The bedroom, on the lower level and accessed by a flight of stairs has a double bed. The bath has a tub and shower in addition to the customary facilities. The gardens are very attractive with places to sit and rest, and on the other side of the property are wonderful vistas of the Great Sound. The apartment is in an excellent location for walking up to the famous Gibbs Hill lighthouse and its breathtaking views. The lighthouse has a nice tea room and a gift shop too as a reward for all that stair climbing! You can also walk over to the South Shore in ten minutes or less to admire South Shore beaches or hike along the cliffs. Port Royal Golf Course, the Southampton Princess Course , Riddell's Bay Golf Course and the Belmont Golf Course are all nearby. The charming hamlet of Somerset Town is 10 minutes away with shops and cafes, and just beyond the town is the 200 year old Naval Dockyard, now converted into a museum and shopping concourse with pubs, crafts market, a para-sail operation, charter boats, beach facilities, etc. Ferry service back into Hamilton is regularly scheduled in addition to the bus service. There are very elegant hotels and fine dining available at this end of the island as well - one does not have to go into Hamilton to enjoy a good meal or cabaret. description:The 2 Bedroom Bed and Breakfast is a very old Bermudian cottage (parts are 275 years old) that has been comfortably enlarged over the years. The house is situated on an acre of land (a veritable estate by Bermudian standards) high on a hill overlooking the ocean in Hamilton Parish - about midway between the city of Hamilton and the town of St. Georges. The house is exquisitely furnished in antiques and offers two bedrooms for guests (4 single beds) and the use of living areas and the kitchen. The owners enjoy having guests who appreciate fine furnishings and traditional hospitality. Their busy professional careers means you'll have the house pretty much to yourself. A continental breakfast is provided. Bus transportation into Hamilton or St. Georges takes 15 minutes on Route 11, one of the island's most frequent services. The bus stop is a three-minute walk from the house. Mopeds can be rented from a shop called 'Wheels' and your hostess takes guests down to the shop so all models can be tried out and something comfortable and safe selected. Shopping in the neighbourhood includes a supermarket at the Shelly Bay Plaza and a small convenience store at the gas station at the end of Radnor Road. One half mile away there is another convenience store open until midnight. Grocery stores also sell liquor, wines and beer. Drycleaners, a pizza parlour and a Post Office are nearby. Flatts Village is five minutes away by bus (and is delightful village) with nice places to eat (the Palmetto Bay Hotel is particularly pleasant), gift and other shops, and the Aquarium and Zoo which are well worth a visit. Sports activities include tennis courts (which can be booked at reasonable rates) at Grotto Bay, which is five minutes away by bus. Sandy beaches nearby would include Somerset Long Bay, the public beach at Daniels Head and then West Whale Bay, a very small cove strewn with seashells and with a gentle surf, the first of the big South Shore Beaches as one travels east along the South Shore Road through Southampton, Warwick and Paget. Your moped or the bus service will take you to Church Bay or Horseshoe Bay on the South Shore as well, where umbrellas, beach chairs etc. can be rented and a concession stand operates. In the winter months, take your own little picnic to be sure of the necessary sustenance when required. The cottage will suit the guests who desire peace and a pretty view above all else. For those who enjoy a walk, the Old Bermuda Railway scenic trails runs practically next door. Somerset Village is nearby - a charming hamlet with pretty shops and nice restaurants to enjoy. Beyond the village is the Naval Dockyard with Bermuda's maritime history preserved for your edification and located on a headland with the most extraordinary views of the length of the island. Dockyard also features pretty craft shops and artisans at work, excellent books on the island, pottery etc. and a wide array of pubs, cafes and luxurious carriage trade stores to browse through. The ferry stops here too so you can hop aboard and take a leisurely cruise back into Hamilton with your mopeds in the hold.
