The Botanical Gardens are closer to the South Shore and The Premier's Residence, the magnificent old mansion Camden is open for viewing. Beaches would include John Smiths Bay about 10 minutes East of the cottage, or the pretty Devonshire Bay just three or four minutes away and where one can buy fresh fish. Elbow Beach is perhaps 10 minutes away heading west on the South Shore: a magnificent stretch of sand and the first of series of public beaches that stretch west along the fabled South Shore Coast to Southampton Parish, including Warwick Long bay, Horseshoe bay, Chaplin's Bay and Church Bay, amongst others. Hamilton offers shopping, dining and evening attractions, as well as excellent public transportation services on both ferry and bus lines from the central depot. Many activities and tours start and terminate in Hamilton. Details can be picked up about them at the Airport when you arrive. The house is tucked away from sight on a large piece of property with a meandering drive that takes you down to your home away from home. Swimming from the dock is pleasant. However, the nearest sandy beach would be West Whale Bay, a very small cove strewn with seashells and with a gentle surf. The beach is about a ten minute leisurely walk from the house. Alternatively, one can catch the South Shore bus and proceed along to Church Bay or Horseshoe Bay, where umbrellas, beach chairs etc. can be rented and a concession stand operates. In the winter months, take your own little picnic to be sure of the necessary sustenance when required. In the main house there is a 2 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and separate bathroom, pretty garden access, and balcony views over the water. description:Enjoying pretty views over the harbour towards the city of Hamilton, and little glimpses of the South Shore, the apartment with its own little patio is part of a handsome home in pretty gardens. Elbow Beach is the closest beach- it takes a leisurely 15 minutes to stroll there..we recommend going up and over the tribe road from Middle Road, crossing Ord Road, and following Southcote Avenue down to the silver sands of Elbow Beach. Elbow is the first of a series of bigger beaches that appear like pearls on a strand as you head up the south shore coast, heading west. Don't miss the often overlooked Jobson's Cove, Chaplin Bay, Stonehole Cove tucked away in between the better known Horseshoe Bay and Warwick Long Bay Beaches... For getting into Hamilton we recommend the 10 minute walk to Hodson's Ferry : its the absolute best way to travel in Bermuda The amenities of the studio include the following: The bathroom has a tub and shower, sink and toilet facilities and hairdryer. Full kitchen includes a microwave.. Iron and board, laundry facilities (please- conserve water and electricity!) The apartment is airconditioned and has a private telephone and Cable TV Radio with alarm clock, and Queen sized bed. There are two grocery stores and a bike rental establishment and gas station10 minutes walk away. For hikers, the famed Railway Trail can be found a 5 minute walk from the house. Hamilton by bus is 10 minutes away- less by moped. A Paget location has tons to offer the savvy visitor: quite apart from the dazzling South Shore coastline, the Paget Marsh Park with its fascinating array of birds and unusual plant species awaits you. There are excellent restaurants and fine resorts for evening entertainments and the newly reconfigured Belmont Golf Course in nearby Warwick Parish. If your party includes two couples, please note that C11 is a 5 minute walk away. Electricity costs 330 per cent more in Bermuda than in the USA. YOU ARE EXPECTED TO CONSERVE! ;

Vacation Apartment Description:
description:Tucker's Town is a part of Bermuda many people recognize because of the distinguished people who have gorgeous homes here, but the area has a fascinating history. With an access road laid down in the early 1600's, the district struggled to establish itself first as a town, a whaling village and then as a farming community where cotton and tobacco failed to thrive. The area became one of the poorest districts in Bermuda. All this turned around finally when a company was formed and the lands were redeveloped in the 1920's to attract an affluent north American visitor who would come and build expensive homes around the new golf courses that were laid out and the fine hotel that was built to supplement the numbers of residents. With the influx of new wealth, substantial houses were built in every style and size- from small copies of the traditional Bermuda style to rambling palaces clinging to the hillsides to savor the views. Enjoying your leisurely walks along Tucker's Town Road towards the cascade of little islands that stretch across the mouth of Castle Harbour is a rare and absorbing experience. Since the community is gated, only residents enjoy the scenery and your quiet contemplation of architecture and nature is unlikely to be disturbed. The beaches are simply dazzling and the views go on forever. At the end of the long peninsula are the islands ~ with ancient ruined forts and wind blown cedar trees. Four small islands are the last preserve of the endangered indigenous Cahow bird (pterodoma cahow), a sea-bird thought extinct for over 300 years until rediscovered by a passionate young Bermudian naturalist, David Wingate, in the 1960's. If you rent a boat, don't disturb these creatures: there are less than 250 of them believed left in the world. Of course, all the rest of Bermuda waits to be discovered when you have finished your leisurely exploration of the neighborhood. Hamilton is the pretty capital, filled with small shops and nice places to dine and a swirl of business people running the various internati... ;
