Vacation Bed & Breakfast Description:
description:We are located on a 26-acre estate just three miles from town-center Tryon, North Carolina, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our Inn property includes the main house, a guest house and a pool-side cottage, all surrounded by gardens, rolling meadows and wooded walks. Each building is a unique fieldstone structure exhibiting the character of its 1930s vintage architecture. Our guest accommodations appeal equally to the romantic, the traveler and the business person. Our six rooms, found in three separate old stone buildings, are large with sitting areas, private bath, cable television and private telephone. Two of the rooms possess rich pine paneling and a fireplace for a rustic feel. The rooms in the main house have antique furniture for a more formal atmosphere. Your breakfast is served in our dining room, where large picture windows afford stunning mountain views. After sunset the tables are illuminated with candles in crystal globes and the ambiance is romantic. Our dinner menu is an eclectic mix of contemporary specials and traditional favorites, all prepared to order from the freshest ingredients. Tryon is a small community of almost 1,800 residents who enjoy the scenic views offered by living in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is known as the friendliest town in the South and you will be reminded of this throughout your visit. Tryon is a place to relax and enjoy all the wonderful activities the area has come to be known for. Nature, beautiful vistas, waterfalls, hiking trails and rivers. Art and little theater, galleries, bookstores and performing arts centers. It is an area with a strong sense of its historical significance to the development of this country and one that relies heavily on the equestrian presence. Finally, you will enjoy visiting the unique shops and restaurants that call Tryon home. ;

Vacation Bed & Breakfast Description:
description:In 1935 the Calvary Episcopal Church in Fletcher suffered a serious fire and an architect known as S. Grant Alexander was commissioned to redesign and build everything except the clock tower which survived. An English couple known as Mr. and Mrs. Montfort-Bebb also commissioned the same architect to build their new home, the Tudor House, in 1936 and used many of the same craftsmen. In 1939 both buildings were featured on pages 1 and 2 in the publication 'Carolina Architecture' as being of significant architectural merit. The current owners purchased the property in 1988 and have carried out extensive restoration and made many improvements whilst retaining the original structural design and features. It is now a traditional British Bed and Breakfast with a delightful blend of modern and old world charm. Tudor House is tastefully decorated and furnished in the original style. Ivy-covered walls, terraced gardens and the peaceful setting give the visitor a glimpse of a Tudor style mansion. The spacious lounge with its beamed ceiling, large, picturesque bay window, cozy stone fireplace and comfortable English antique furnishings is an ideal place to relax. ;

Vacation Bed & Breakfast Description:
description:Charm and comfort await guests in this beautifully furnished Victorian North Carolina bed and breakfast in the North Carolina mountain town of Saluda. All rooms are attractively furnished with period and antique furniture, four poster beds, cable tv, and private baths. Guests will enjoy rocking on the wraparound porch, reading in the library, and fabulous full breakfasts. The Oaks is perfectly situated for a North Carolina vacation. Only 35 minutes from Asheville and the Biltmore House, 30 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 5 miles from Pearsons Falls, 23 miles from DuPont Forest with another 5 waterfalls, and 10 miles from tubing on the Green River. The Oaks was built in 1895 for a local banker. In 1908 it was turned into one of the thirty-seven hotels and boarding houses that dominated Saluda in its heyday from 1880 to 1930. Originally guests came to Saluda to escape the heat and malaria of the low country and the cities of Charleston and Savannah. Today they still come to escape the heat and enjoy the mountain breezes. They also come to visit waterfalls, the Biltmore Estate, or go antiquing. The Oaks was recently mentioned in 'A Guide to the Historic Architecture of North Carolina' ;
