Your well mannered dog is always welcome, we provide bowls and bed for your canine companion. An updated, fully equipped cook's kitchen provides opportunities to cook with friends, or stroll over to the Fernwood Restaurant for cocktails and dinner. Our Waterfall Vacation Home is ideally located between Woodstock(12 miles), Saugerties(8 miles), Catskill(10 miles) and Hunter Mountain (for winter sports, 10 miles) in the sleepy hamlet of Palenville, the setting for Washington Irving's story of Rip Van Winkle. When you arrive, you'll find a choice of wine, cheese, and fruit on your dining table, and recommendations on local markets and restaurants to complete your culinary experience. You'll find an abundance of locally farmed produce and meats in the area. During the summer months, you may enjoy preparing your cornucopia grilled outside on your private patio. In the winter, let the stew simmer on the gas stove as you relax, then enjoy the fireplace while dining inside. All cookware and utensils are provided. And if you want a midnight snack, no one but your companions will hear. During the day, windows, skylights and high ceilings provide a bright and open atmosphere. The kitchen is full service with gas stove, microwave and refrigerator. Fine teas and the best coffee I can get my hands on will be lovingly available at whatever hour you choose in your private, self serve kitchen. We try to stay as environmentally friendly and hypo-allergenic as possible with our cleaning products and linens. Laundry facilities are also in the cottage and available for your use. There is a ceiling fan and each room is zoned separately for maximum temperature control and if you're traveling with friends or family, we do have a sleeper sofa and a queen size air mattress.
