Just a two minute drive to the ski slopes, snow tubing park, golf course, driving range, swimming pool and restaurant. Drive just up the street to the mountain overlook and go hiking or hunting. The nearby Massanutten indoor/outdoor Water Park opened in December of 2005. Our lovely front deck looks out onto the secluded court and green area and the large deck in the back views a large wooded area where deer and other wildlife may be spotted. The upstairs great room is newly painted an features a large sectional with pullout couch facing a gas fireplace and has a 27 inch TV with 200 digital cable channels, a DVD player, surround sound theater and VCR. The dining room table is 9 feet long and seats 10 - 14 people comfortably. The maple kitchen is fully appointed with a banquette that seats 8 children or 6 adults. The master suite offers a king bed and 20 inch TV with digital cable. The two remaining upstairs bedrooms each have queen beds with cozy down comforters. A full bathroom is shared between these two bedrooms. The downstairs is also newly painte and a haven for children of all ages! The air hockey/pool table will provide hours of fun for the whole family. Another fantastic sectional with pullout sleeper faces the 27 inch TV with digital cable and DVD player. description:Kalmia is the newest log cabin in Shenandoah Woods, our private 100 acre valley in the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah National Park. Kalmia is the scientific name for Mountain Laurel, the evergreen shrub that graces our mountainside. We located Kalmia to take advantage of the incredible views. Kalmia sits 300 feet above the Shenandoah Valley on a private mountain which is a foothill of the Blueridge Mountains. Standing on the front porch the view to your left is Big Meadows on top of Shenandoah National Park. Directly before you just across the Shenandoah Valley is a spectacular westerly view of the Massanutten Mountains. Sunsets here are an event. The master bedroom has a king bed and a private bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed. There is a loft with a futon that makes a double sized bed. The sofa also converts to a queen sized bed. The living room has an open cathedral ceiling with exposed heavy timber beams and a dormer to let in plenty of natural light. There is a gas log fireplace with a floor to ceiling stone chimney.
