description:Welcome to the Buttonwood Inn, where country charm and southern hospitality combine to provide guests with a memorable vacation The four bedroom inn was originally built in the late 1920's between the 5th and 7th greens of the Franklin Public Golf Course, and had some of the main structure renovated in 1995. The two-story inn has a white pine tung and groove interior and batten board exterior. A new wing was added in the late 1950's which retained the same rustic charm and now accommodates some of the Inn's guests. Innkeeper Liz Oehser has furnished the inn with charming antiques, collectibles, handmade family quilts, and country pieces. Enjoy the mountain views from a rocking chair on the deck, watch the Dogwoods bloom in the spring or admire the breathtaking display of the fall foliage. Each morning enjoy such culinary delights as puffy scrambled eggs, apple sausage ring, stuffed french toast, or Dutch babies with rum bananas.;

The Oak Hill Country Inn is a 2-storey, frame, late Victorian Regional Queen Anne style house. The Inn gets its name by its location. It is situated on top of a hill and is surrounded by century-old oak trees. A beautiful mountain view can be seen from nearly anywhere on the property Built in 1888 it was originally the home of Reverend John A Deal, a missionary who established all of the Episcopal Churches in western North Carolina. He also established the first lending library in Franklin, out of this home. The next owner, Robert L. Porter, an influential Franklin businessman, resided in the home from 1910 until his death in 1912. After his death, his widow Florence Porter built several additions and turned the property into the first tourist home outside the city limits of Franklin, nc. The ���Oak Hill Hotel��� as it was called, operated until 1928. She also built 5 guest cottages, of which one still remains and has been completely restored. Today, this charming dwelling has been fully restored to afford you every modern lodging convenience, without distracting from the sense of gracious comfort which the original owners created. We invite you to begin your day at the Inn with a steaming cup of gourmet tea or coffee and a full gourmet breakfast prepared by your hostess, a Le Cordon Bleu trained chef. Is just 2 1/2 hours North of Atlanta and 1 1/4 hours West of Ashville, nc. From the moment you start up the driveway you will find your cares and stress falling off like leaves in the Fall. The garden provides another escape and several opportunities to relax with a good book, or just sit and watch the birds. Our lovely two story Bed & Breakfast was built in 1914. It was restored and transformed into a bed & breakfast in 1994.;
