This working horse farm sits at the top of a hill on a 43 acre island connected to beautiful Georgetown Island by a causeway. The 1770's farmhouse is bright and airy and offers cozy surroundings including the original wooden floors and fireplaces. The bedrooms are distinctive, there is a central reading room upstairs and a lovely large screened in porch overlooking the fields that roll down to the ocean. For those interested in the horses, there are riding programs available. The property is lovely to hike, swim, even fish if you desire. There are many local attractions, including 2 restaurants within a mile. The beach is a 10 minute drive one direction, the city of Bath with museums and shopping 10 minutes the other. Yet we are secluded enough to give you a chance to relax and leave the busy world behind.

Newly restored year round cottage on 1.7 private waterfront acres at the end of a private lane in Five Islands, Georgetown. Our home overlooks Gott's Cove and Sheepscott Bay from a large deck complete with hot tub for star gazing and relaxation. Swim or kayak from our dock at high tide, or go clamming at low tide. Watch the Osprey and Belted Kingfishers as they fly overhead. After your outdoor adventures, you can shower outdoors while enjoying the view of the water. Our cottage is a short drive to 766 acre Reid State Park, with its beautiful beaches and trails (Park Pass provided) and a short walk to Five Islands Wharf where you can eat your lobster and ice cream while enjoying the working harbor. You may also choose to have lobster delivered from our lobsterman neighbor! Locally, there are many conserved trails for walking and a fresh water pond to swim in. There is a 5 star restaurant about 10 minutes away and many restaurants in downtown Bath. Cozy and comfortable with plenty to do year round, we offer 5 bedrooms (Master Bedroom and bath on first floor), full kitchen, which looks out through the 4 season sunroom to scenic Gott's Cove. We have a screened-in porch off the Master BR. The hot tub is outside on the deck off the screen porch. For chilly days, we have a gas fireplace in the living room. The dining room table comfortably seats 8. The first floor also includes a full laundry room (detergent provided). Out on the deck, we have a table and eight chairs for enjoying your barbeque from the gas grill! The lower level of our home is finished with a game room, (ping pong, foosball, air hockey, and a game table) and a full bath as well. Upstairs are 4 bedrooms and a full bath. There is one room with a queen bed, one with a futon, and two rooms with two twin beds each. No smoking inside or out, and no pets. Unfortunately, owner has severe allergies. As many of you know Grey Havens Inn is the epitome of a relaxing Maine vacation. Furnished throughout with airy and eclectic cottage comfort, the oceanfront rooms command majestic 180-degree views of the island coastline. The four antique turret rooms are truly unique in this castle-by-the-sea. For almost thirty years the Hardcastle and Eberhart families have owned the Inn. It is they who have made the Inn so popular, with many guests returning year after year. Now, in 2005 a new chapter is beginning. After much thought the Eberharts have graciously blessed us with the opportunity to continue the Inn’s traditions. We, too, are a local family with four children. For my wife, Cathy, ownership of Grey Havens is a life-long dream-come-true. Her ancestors the MacMahans were founders of Georgetown and my mother in law lived for a time at the Inn. Cathy fondly remembers the early days, working for Hilda Hardcastle, painting trim, wall-papering, welcoming new faces, seeing the guests so happy. With our ownership comes fresh excitement and enthusiasm. We do have a lengthy list of planned improvements to make. However, to those of you who know Grey Havens so well, I say “do not worry.” We have no plans to modernize or upset the Inn’s traditional and irreplaceable character.
