description:Built in 1888, the Farmhouse has a vibrant history first serving as a boarding house for migrant workers. In 1913 the Farmhouse was purchased by great uncle Camille Charbonneau. Later, Grandfather Wilfred Richer, with the help of his wife Laura, purchased the farm and raised and maintained seven children and 40 head of cattle. After the death of Wilfred, son Dale Richer bought the farm where many cousins spent their younger years. In 2002 renovations began to rejuvenate the house which had fallen into disrepair. The house still maintains much of its original character with the original furnishings, light fixtures and wooden floors. Now the Richer family welcomes you here for a home-cooked meal, a bit of quiet and a stunning landscape. The Richer family welcomes you to enjoy the lands and the fruit it produces. Much of the food we offer we produce ourselves in a garden you are most welcome to enjoy. Many a guest has been known to make off with small peas and baby carrots or Dale's elusive maple syrup. The woods provide wild leeks in springtime and the shores of lake Michigan produce the finest wild blueberries. Jams and pickles fill the cupboards. Dale produces wood fired maple syrup from the hardwoods in the bright spring days of March. Outside Escanaba, the 'land of the red deer', wild game abounds. If you are in no mood to navigate town for lunch or dinner, simply say so. We are pleased to provide additional meals upon request.;
