Vacation Home Description:
description:Rural Villa sleeps up to 10 in country setting This large country villa is typically Spanish with white walls and terracotta floors.Situated on the Costa de la Luz near the city of Huelva and the towns of Gibraleon and Trigueros, it is within easy reach of both Faro and Seville airports.Villa Sanchez is set in its own 3000 metre grounds with the front full of fruit and olive trees. To the rear is a beautiful 10 x 4 metre pool with an outside shower. The pool is surrounded by a non slip tiled area for sunbathing on the loungers provided, whilst the grass garden is fun to play badminton etc on.The front terrace is a lovely place to watch the sun setting over the fruit trees, whilst having a relaxing drink. At the back if the sun gets too much you can retire to the terrace covered in grape vines to provide that all important shelter and still keep an eye on those in the pool. It is also the perfect spot for al fresco dining, especially when having that all important BBQ.Although Villa Sanchez is in the country, it is only a 5 minute drive into the lovely town of Gibraleon, with plenty of small shops and a large Mercadona supermarket. There are countless small bars and cafes nearly all of which serve tapas, along with chemists, banks, doctors etc.On the road to the villa there are 3 small bars who all sell basic provisions and a farm shop selling fruit, veg and meats. A rich variety of culture and history lies within easy reach Niebla is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain and is declared to be of official cultural interest. It is about 20 kilometres from our property and is reached via a very lovely cross country drive through rolling fields of olives, sunflowers, vines and other crops. Views are panoramic and you can see for miles (kilometres) as you make this Journey. It has a medieval beer festival at the end of May beginning of June. Castillo de Nieblo Theatre and Dance festival during July and August. It has two kilometres of perimeter walls completely surrounding the town with numerous towers and five main entrances. This is an authentic work of Moorish architecture and in its interior it includes a Christian castle built by the Guzman family. Almost every month there is a festival of music, theatre or dance held in the castle. It is well worth a visit. Huelva's beach Punta Umbria is about 20 minutes away from the bungalow. Punta Umbria has many kilometres of fine sand beaches stretching to the next port of call El Portil. Punta Umbria each year celebrates two open air extravaganza?s to celebrate the sea fishing activities. In March more than 1700 kilos of clams and other seafood are cooked and sold for nominal prices in the Plaza 26 de Abril. In April more than 60,000 people gather in the marques installed in the plaza de Perez Pastor to sample prawns caught off the Huelva coast. The prawns have a special colour and taste when cooked and everyone thoroughly enjoys the experience.This area is surrounded by three protected spaces of national interest and is a magnet for birdwatchers. There are over 200 species identified in the area. There are pine, juniper and savina woods running parallel to the beaches and sea. These often extend down to the beaches giving visitors much needed shade at the hottest times of the year. The Atlantic Ocean washes the shores along the coast of light,Costa de la Luz, as it is known and many visitors do sea fishing, surfing, sailing, boating and para surfing along this coast. El Rompido is another very attractive village along the coast from El Portil, It has many eating establishments, a golf course and sailing, boating and fishing activities in its very pretty area. Past El Rompido there is Cartaya which is expanding rapidly and boasts a water park, carting area and sports complex. Lepe a little further along the coast is the centre for the fruit and strawberry growers of the province. Many varieties of fruit are grown here particularly oranges and lemons. Strawberries are therefore cheap and plentiful and the fresh orange and lemon juice ensures nobody misses their dose of vitamin C. From Huelva to Ayamonte there are a number of very good golf courses. Visitors are welcome and can enjoy some very good rounds of golf on quite challenging courses. Near Ayamonte there is a Green bowling facility with a several all weather rinks and 8 grass rinks. Visitors are welcome. From Ayamonte it is possible to take a cheap ferry ride across to Portugal?s Algarve. There are many shops with bargain prices which provide great temptations to the visitors. Still within a 45 minute journey on the other side of Huelva going east is Parque Nacional de Donana this area is considered to be one of the most important wildlife reserves on the European continent, combining the natural beauty of the area with its wealth of flora and fauna. The park can be visited and there are three visitor centres. Acebuche, La Rocina and Palacio del Acebron. Almonte is the administration centre of the nacional parque area where every year there is a round up of the wild horses and they run through the town for selling the next day at the horse market. This is a great night of celebration and many people visit to see the horses and to party. El Rocio is the place of Marian worship and the centre of the Whitsun pilgrimage. Days in which many thousands of visitors, particularly Spanish people who walk, ride on carts, tractors, horseback and any other means dressed in their dazzling colourful dresses. They travel from many parts of Spain and the rest of the world to pay homeage to the Virgin at the most beautiful church you may see. It is a time again for eating, drinking, singing and dancing and everyone is part of this party atmosphere. Matalascanas is 15 minutes down the road on the coast of light and is a very attractive area although much building is taking place bringing with it Golf and green bowling facilities as well as many other activities along its beautiful beaches. This attracts many visitors and has some very good eating establishments overlooking the beach and the Atlantic Ocean which laps miles and miles of this coast line. This is the furthest distance to drive from the villa about one hour. Along the coast to Mazagon which takes about 15 minutes and this popular and attractive town has a well used harbour with many boats tied up ready to make the trips out to sea. There are again large beach areas with sports facilities such as football and handball and again many very good places to eat and drink. Near to Mathagon are vast areas of strawberry growing and often one or two kilos of the most scrumptious strawberries can be obtained for as little as one to four Euros. This town is just thirty five minutes drive from the villa. Along the coast back towards Huelva city is another area you should not miss. It is La Rabida with its Columbus site. Here there is an exhibition which includes replicas of the three ships that Columbus sailed in to discover America. The exhibition has many exhibits and artefacts described in Spanish and documents that relate to the time and the journey and to the people Columbus met when he arrived in what is now known as the West Indies. Here there is a Botanical garden containing examples of native and Latin-American flora, monastery of La Ribida with its beautiful conserved image of the ?Virgen de los Milagros. And nearby the Birthplace of America, Palos de la Frontera. It is said that La Ribida is the historical destiny of Huelva with the discovery of the new world. A cultural meeting place dating back to the 14th century. Huelva maintains its traditional links with the peoples of America through its famous Columbinas Festival that takes place every July and August. In September is the Festival of La Cinta an exhibition of dressage in the Spanish style with magnificent horses parading up and down the streets along with spectacular ribbon races. In June, July and August are theatre and Street shows of Latin American music, song and dance. Huelva has much to offer in history and culture and some very good shopping areas and markets. The very large hallway has a double futon that can be used to make a sleeping maximum of ten.;

Golf Isla Canela golf course is a challenging 18 hole Par72 (about 6,833 yards), the ground being characterised by gentle slopes formed by dunes and a beautiful countryside with olive, orange and eucalyptus trees. The design of the holes combines precision, strength and dexterity in their proper proportions. The course is kept to a high standard and is open all year round. It is believed that as apartment guests you are entitled to 50% discount on Isla Canela golf course (approx 36 euros). The clubhouse has a restaurant, a bar, a pro shop, its own swimming pool, and beautiful terraces. For the novice, there is a permanent golf school, where you can quickly learn.There are many other courses to be enjoyed within a 25-30 min drive either in Spain at Islantilla, Nuevo Portil, El Rompido, Valderretama, Bellavista and Dunas Donana or in Portugal at Castro Marim, Quinta de Cima, Quinta da Ria, Benamor and many more all within easy reach of the apartment. Beach Isla Canela boasts over 5 miles of fine sandy beach beside the clean Atlantic Ocean. It is 40 meters wide on average, a lot wider than most beaches on the other costas of Spain. The gentle slope of the ocean floor and the sand banks just off the coast ensure that the sea is always calm and safe to swim in along the whole beach with just gentle surf and never any big and dangerous waves.The size of the beach and the careful development of the residential resort with only a few select hotels also ensure that there is plenty of space on the sand. Research featured in the Daily Express, to find how busy the beaches of Europe were, devised a rating to give holidaymakers an idea of how much towel space they could expect. Isla Canela came top in the survey with a grand 14.5 rating, meaning that there was enough room for over 14 average towels per person on the sand, compare this to San Antonio on Ibiza where the space available on the sand is just over one towel per person! With 3 bedrooms the apartment is ideally suited to a maximum of 6 people. However there is a sofabed in the living room, therefore the apartment can sleep a maximum of 8 people, although not very conveniently. Smoking is not allowed in the apartment but the balcony is large and smoking is permitted here.;

Vacation Home Description:
description:Rural Bungalow sleeps four in rural woodland setting. Described as a Villa this single storey bungalow is typically Spanish with white walls and terracotta floors. For details of alternative Villa sleeping 8 go to reference 13208 on Villarenters.com. Situated on the Costa de Luz near city of Huelva and towns of Beas, Valverde, Tregeuros and Niebla. Set in tranquil woodland area with lovely views in three and a half acres of gardens with its own tennis court and private swimming pool. Access to Sevilla, Faro and Jerez airports are easy. The beautiful beaches along the Costa del Luz and the Algarve are within easy reach. De Aracena Y Picos De Aroche and Donana are very close. Sporting and leisure facilities are readily accessible.For sight seeing it is advisable to hire a car. There is wheelchair access to the bungalow and childminding can be arranged. The area is what the local Spanish residents call rural countryside and it attracts Spanish families from the towns and cities for weekends and holidays. The woodland consists of Eucalyptus and a variety of pine trees. The ground cover consists of many species of wild herbs, flowers, ferns and fungi. The landscape changes colour from golden yellow of sunflowers to deep purple of the olive groves and the texture from carpets of multi coloued spring flowers to the deep greens and browns of the woodland. Throughout the year these changes brings a range of birds, butterflies, insects and animals. See www.birdforum.net for opportunities for bird watching. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets occur almost daily. The sky at night is unbelievably clear and many galaxies can be seen and studied from the terraces. Walking on one of the many walkways or tracks particularly during the early fresh morning sunrise is an experience not to be missed. Many Spanish people enjoy this activity so you are not usually alone. The average temperature is from 16 degrees C in January to 32 degrees in July and August easing back to 17 degrees in December. The average number of hours of sunlight per year is 2984 in the Huelva province. Our Finca is called Alcoracejo, we are told this name has Arabic origins and means ?one side of the hill?. The property is set on a hillside and looks out over rolling countryside facing the horizon to the East, from where the sun appears almost every morning. The property is ideally placed so that the terraces and balconies provide sunshine and shade all day as the sun passes over and sinks gloriously to rest in the west of the property over the swimming pool at night. The days are long and usually sunny and light until quite late. Previous owners had planted many different trees and bushes all around the property much of the gardens need refurbishment, which the current owners are doing. We are rediscovering the trees and bushes and adding more to make the garden interesting and bring it back to its former glory. A visit to a nearby botanical garden, Parque Botanico Jose Celestino Mutis, near to Huelva city at El Rabida, enabled us to compare some of the more unusual trees and identify the ones that they are growing in our garden. Birdwatching is a must. there are so many different birds to see locally and within a 45 minute drive you are spoilt for choice. Bird tours can be arranged through local contacts who are very well informed on the bird population of Huelva province. The bungalow is therefore located in this very peaceful setting with its own covered terrace and two open terraces. An arched opening leads from the covered terrace to the swimming pool area. The swimming pool is enclosed and private with lawns all around and views out over the woodland. A gazebo with tables and chairs provides and area for snacking, resting, reading and sunloungers and parasols or sunshades are provided for soaking up the sun. The swimming pool is 10 metres by 5 metres and graduates in depth from the shallow end one and a half metres to two metres at the deep end. There is a shower adjacent to the pool for use before going into the pool.A log oven is also situated in the pool area so the more ambitious cooks can experiment with this facility to produce some exotic or traditional dishes. The covered terrace has a gas barbeque, a small charcoal barbeque and paella cooking facilities.The kitchen has cooking facilities, utensils and all necessary items for four people to produce the very best dishes for breakfast dinner and tea and supper. There is a choice of eating areas, in the lounge diner, in the adjacent covered terraces or on the two outside terraces. The bathroom is large and contains bath, shower toilet and bidet and large mirrors for makeovers. The lounge diner has a bed settee for two to sleep comfortably. The bedroom is a good size and includes a double bed and a travel cot if this is required. A family with three young children can be accommodated and the English owners a retired teacher and retired electrical engineer could provide childminding for those special occasions when a romantic evening is called for.All floors are terracotta tiles and the walls are white making the accommodation typically Spanish. There is wheelchair access to the accommodation and to the swimming pool. Water is provided from the underground supply and is usable for washing, cleaning teeth and boiling for making hot drinks. For drinking bottled water is provided. The property is serviced with electricity and gas and the owner?s property has telephone and internet connections which may be used at the discretion of the owners. There is a full sized tennis court in the lower garden area which can be used and areas for boules, darts and table-tennis, which can be used at the user?s risk. No responsibility can be accepted by the owners for use of any of the facilities on site. Centrally located for easy access to airports, activities and cultural visi From Faro airport the bungalow is one hour and 20 minutes. Follow the directions to Espana and the A49 towards Sevilla. As you pass Huelva take the N435 at the junction of San Juan del Porto/ Tregueros towards Badajos and Tregueros five kilometres past Beas you will find the country road/track to the bungalow. From Sevilla airport you follow the signs for Huelva travelling along the A49 towards Portugal you will see the N435 junction. It takes an hour from Sevilla airport subject to traffic density.From Jerez airport follow signs for Sevilla and as you approach Sevilla take the direction to Huelva along the A49 to The N435 Junction. It takes an hour and 45 minutes using the toll road near Jerez. The possibility of using these airports make the options for using the most cost effective airlines and to take advantage of the cheap offers and there are many of these such as Easyjet, Ryanair, Monarch, Thompson Fly, etc and flexibility in which airports you fly from.You can shop for anything locally at Beas (10 mins), Valverde del Camino (15 mins), Huelva (25 mins), Sevilla (45 mins) or any town scattered along the Costa del Luz as they are only up to 45 minutes driving away. They all have local fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and meat markets most days of the week and these are generally cheap with the best and most fresh products. It is an experience to go and browse in these markets. Usually only Spanish is spoken but you always get what you want as the traders are all so eager to serve you. All towns have general markets for cloth's, shoes, bed linen, towels and many other items. The markets are on different days in different towns and villages and are usually from early morning to about two thirty. Shopping generally is from early morning to about one thirty. The shops and businesses close until about four thirty then they all open again until between eight and nine o?clock. The exception is the big Supermacado (supermarkets) they are usually open from nine in the morning until nine or ten at night. From early morning until about 12 o?clock the restaurants and bars serve various toasted bread with different toppings of your choice. This is usually accompanied by coffee or sometimes tea of one type or another. It is very cheap and very tasty.From twelve o?clock until about four o?clock bars and restaurants are serving their meal of the day, tapas or the full menu. Leave plenty of time to enjoy the food and drink of the area. It is wonderful and generally so inexpensive. Meal of the day is usually between 5 and 8 Euros. The area is renown for the fish, prawns and Jamon. You are not usually disappointed with the meal of the day which includes a drink of your choice, a starter, main course and postry (sweet/pudding/icecream), bread and olives are also included in many establishments. The choice of menu of the day is down to the establishment so choice is limited. Vegetarians get by but the Spanish do not have such a wide choice of appropriate foods for them.There are bars and restaurants within five minutes drive from the bungalow. We have tried and tested many and can recommend them to visitors. There are many more in Valverde del Camino, Beas, Tregueros that are ten to fifteen minutes away and Niebla about 20 minutes drive. Huelva city is full of bars and restaurants including Chinese so any visitor is spoilt for choice.Eating at the bungalow can be fun and experimental. There is almost every facility you would need to cook any meal so the world of gastronomia awaits. The seafood including tuna, shark, Dorado, cuttle fish, clams, prawns, mussels, squid, trout etc can be bought very fresh from the local markets. You have to see the fish counters to believe the wide range and cheap prices of everything. A holiday at the Bungalow can include any activity as the facilities are either on site or within forty five minutes drive. Just relaxing in the pool area, visiting cultural and historic places of interest, or more active such as walking, fishing, tennis, cycling, golf, sailing, horse riding, surfing, boating carting bird watching.When we decided that Huelva was the part of Spain we wanted to live in and this was the property for our adventure in our new life. It was with much thought and research based on our preference to live with and be part of the Spanish community enjoying their celebrations, fiestas, parties and traditions that we finally agreed this was the very best place to be. What we didn?t realise was that the Spanish people would take us so readily to their hearts and treat us as part of their families. We are often overwhelmed by their kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness. They are quick to help us to understand their language and make us aware of the calendar of events that each town, city or province is engaged in and to ensure we are involved if we want to and have to stamina to keep up. This has led to our travelling to many towns and places of interest in the Huelva province such as:-Valverde del Camino, which is just 12 kilometres up the N435 from our property, is regarded as being in the centre of the province of Huelva. The English settled here in the mid 19th century to mine copper. They set up railways and brought new technology to help the local Spanish people manufacture new shoes and footwear such, that the shoemaking industry of the Province is concentrated in this town. Visits to the British House and various workshops and craft centres reflect the history of the development of the town and the skills of the local people. Beas is a smaller village just 5 kilometres in the opposite direction towards Huelva. It has many of its own characteristics including a cooperative that manufactures and sells some of the very best Extra Virgin Olive oil, wines, sherry and other produce. Like every other Spanish town it celebrates Samana Santa at Easter with breathtaking processions, Romeria Santa Maria de Espana in June and this involves a procession of many of the towns people dressed in traditional dress and walking, riding or being carried on carts pulled by horses or tractors making for a destination towards the mountains called Sotiel where they will celebrate their Santa for several days and nights eating, drinking, singing and playing guitars. In August it is a month of festivities with week long parties at Clarines their special place some three Kilometres into the countryside and then the local bull runs in the town centre. These have to be seen to be believed. The bulls, or as we suspect in some cases cows with long horns and udders, run up the streets with houses protected by ranch type railings erected by the towns people and into a square that is regarded as a bull ring. Many local men show their courage by running with the bulls and dodging them in the bull ring. It doesn?t seem to hurt the animals and most people are in party spirit so the atmosphere is electric and very happy. Beas has many small shops, four banks, several bars and restaurants and a small market and very good supermarket.Tregueros is about 5 kilometres towards Huelva from Beas. It is another town about the size of Beas and it celebrates in very similar ways to Beas but on different dates. There are some very good bars and restaurants here that are well worth a visit. A rich variety of culture and history lies within easy reach Niebla is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain and is declared to be of official cultural interest. It is about 17 kilometres from our property and is reached via a very lovely cross country drive through rolling fields of olives, sunflowers, vines and other crops.
