A spiral staircase leads you to the upstairs. The patio offers an L-shaped bench with seating for four and a table. The 15 Condominiums of Las Palmas are situated on two and one-half acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Abundant tropical flowers, mango, coconut and banana trees attract butterflies, birds and the rare Mono titi (squirrel monkey). After a day at the beach, relax by the beautiful refreshing swimming pool and enjoy the natural wonders all around you. description:Casa Mono Coco is a distinctive two story A-frame Teak and Stucco House nestled among other cabinas in a quaint jungle setting one mile South of Quepos and two miles North of Costa Rica's world famous Manuel Antonio National Park. It is 1200 Sq. Ft. of sheer tranquility in the Pura Vida style of Costa Rica. Casa Mono Coco is air-conditioned for your comfort and has both upstairs and downstairs glass pannels through which the jungle view is maintained sans insects. To the rear of the house the new jungle patio has recently been constructed for outdoor enjoyment. Comfortable handmade furniture is of fabulous insect and water repellant Guanacaste wood. After the rainy season of '07 this jungle patio will evolve into the bottom floor of an upstairs balcony. The kitchen is fully furnished for eating-in although the area abounds with many restaurants and catering is available for special occasions. You will also find there even a microwave oven, blender and George Foreman grill so you can take advantage of the many fine fresh fruits, meats and vegetables that are available in the area. Cable TV boasts more bilingual channels than you can possibly watch and the telecasting of movies from Europe is the common fare. At your disposal there is internet hook-up and a telephone. The grounds are immaculately landscaped and maintained by our gardener of 15 years, Jose. The interior of Casa Mono Coco is kept in perfect condition by Jose's wife, Olga. Other maintenance men, Juan and Grabin, are on-call for emergencies. Our property manager, Richard, will see to your every need and comfort. In addition to your daily needs, he is a man of many talents and can also provide such things as travel arrangements, tours and bilingual translation services. The bedroom is reached by a wrought iron spiral staircase leading to the upstairs areas. Past the bedroom you are presented with an upstairs balcony accessed through sliding glass doors. From this balcony one has a unique view of the rainforest and the many animals who live in the treetops while nestled in newly handmade leather rocking chairs.. Casa Mono Coco's monkeys live in the treetops and sometimes are on the roof or are watching you swim from over the pool area. Three toed sloths slowly ( I mean very slowly) climb the trees about the gardens searching out their favorite food leaves. One male, called Romeo, is usually found leading a solitary existence in the top of the large tree just behind Mono Coco. On the grounds you will find Coco Palms and other trees with edible fruit ripe for the blender. Ferns, Bromeliads and Orchids abound. Jose is a great instructor and will teach you about the indigeneous plant and animal species of the rainforest. He will even show you how to make tropical fruit juice from the Star Fruit without using a blender and insist that you smell the blossoms of the nearby Ylang Ylang tree. When it rains the gardin area is no longer quiet, and echos with the sounds of Costa Rica's famed tree frogs. The large green ones come out of hiding during rainy weather and you can then find them swimming about the children's pool! If you look even more closely, the tiny Green and Black Poison Dart Frogs who live beneath the leaves and low growing branches in the garden also will appear. At night male fireflies search the area for their female counterparts who are actually the glow-worms on the ground flashing signals to their more familiar flying male counterparts. The garden area and surrounding jungle is frequented with a variety of native wildlife such as Capuchin, White Faced and Congo Monkeys. You will find Black Iguanas sunning in unexpected places, Two and Three Toed Sloths hanging from trees, and enormously mysterious butterflies where the male and the female are entirely dissimilar. Swimming at night in Casa Mono Coco's pool yields a star-studded sky unlike that known in North America or Western Europe. On a clear night one can view a variety of new constellations and see the full moon from a very different perspective.;
