Vacation Bed & Breakfast Description:
description:The Inn at Rutland is a distinctive mansion (circa 1889), which has been carefully renovated to provide 8 richly appointed guest rooms, some with fireplaces or air jetted tubs, all with private baths, remote color televisions, and direct dial telephones. All of our rooms also have air conditioning and WiFi. Each room has been detailed to include the amenities expected by the discriminating traveler, while maintaining a Victorian ambience. The interior is rich with period architectural details, such as the warm leather wainscotting in the dinning room and the leaded glass window over the formal grand staircase. Our two common rooms offer a comfortable atmosphere for reading, or just sitting by the fireplace. A gourmet breakfast is served in our formal dining room, and is included with your lodging. Relax on the front wraparound porch and take in the great views. We are close to all Vermont attractions, and within walking distance to fine shopping and restaurants. The Inn has a carriage house for bicycle and ski storage for our guests. We are only 12 miles to Killington and Pico ski areas, some of the finest skiing in the East.

Vacation Bed & Breakfast Description:
description:The Inn at Rutland is a stately Victorian Mansion built by William F. Burditt for his family in 1889 and located within a few miles of Killington, Vermont. This Vermont Inn, voted Best Bed & Breakfast in the Greater Rutland area in 2006 and in each and every year since 2000, is a perfect place to stay for people skiing at Killington, hiking the Green Mountains of Vermont or enjoying the Fall Foliage. Fronted by a large wraparound porch, the Inn affords breathtaking views of the Green Mountains. Relax on the porch glider or in one of the comfortable rockers and enjoy the gorgeous vistas, a casual conversation or a good book. Once inside the Inn, you will feel as though you were back in the 1800s. The grand oak staircase, carved plaster relief ceilings and wainscoting, huge leaded glass windows and fine period antiques all take you back in time to an era of romantic splendor. There is a comfortable parlor where you can enjoy a cup of tea, some homemade cookies and a warm cozy fire in our tiled fireplace. If you prefer, enjoy a book from our library, stocked with hundreds of titles, or enjoy a jigsaw puzzle at our marble game table. Our dining room, filled with exquisite antiques and covered with leather wainscoting, has a beautiful plaster relief ceiling. Your hosts, Leslie and Steven Brenner, will graciously prepare and serve you a three course gourmet breakfast each morning. You can sample fresh fruits, hot cereals, homemade breads and fantastic main courses, including such gastronomic delights as creme brulee French toast, gingerbread blueberry pancakes, banana pecan waffles and broccoli and cheese quiche. All of our breakfasts are accompanied by a fine selection of teas and the best coffee in Vermont.
