description:Duas Quintas is a traditional farmhouse, renovated to a very high standard so that you can enjoy both traditional features and modern comforts. The house is surrounded by 15 acres of citrus orchards and is located in a wonderful green and refreshing orange growing valley, just 6 kilometers outside the medieval town of Silves.The guesthouse is family run, the owners live on site and are available to share their local knowledge with you so that you can discover the very best of rural Algarve. All rooms have their own private entrance, with patio area and seating outside. There are high wooden ceilings, original stone walls, full length shutters and double glazing. Each of the large double bedrooms has been individually decorated, with double or twin beds, and easy chairs or sofas for extra comfort. Most rooms are big enough to allow an additional bed, if required. The en suite bathrooms are fully tiled. All have large showers and abundant hot water. There are tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers and satellite TV. All communal areas and most bedrooms have wifi access. All bedrooms are non smoking. One double bedroom has been prepared with guests with limited mobility in mind -contact the owners for more details. Families with young children are welcome and travel cots are avilable if required. The studio is ideal for families or guests who are staying for longer periods. The studio has a fully fitted kitchen, with washing machine, a double bed and a sofa bed. description:Anne and Nick would like to welcome you to our 2 bedroom country cottage in the Algarve, Portugal - just an 8 minute drive to the old Moorish capital of Silves, offering Bed & Breakfast or full self-catering facilities. We live in an adjacent cottage and in the b&b cottage - Casa Velha - have two double letting bedrooms, each with a double bed and own en-suite shower-room. Both rooms have ceiling fans but we must point out that as this is a traditional Algarvian longhouse, with walls up to 2ft thick, it keeps its cool in the summer and warmth in the winter...you'll rarely need the fans. You can use the kitchen to make your tea and coffee...squeeze orange juice..or prepare a G 'n T if that's more your taste For most days from April to October breakfast is served on our beautiful terrace underneath the vine. We offer a full continental breakfast with fresh fruit, breads, cheese, local honey and so on - you won't go out for the day hungry And for a small extra charge we are also delighted to prepare a packed lunch for guests. We have a menu to suit all tastes - including wine or beer to make it a proper Algarve picnic. The lounge, for the use of our guests only, has sat tv, radio and CD player - and guests are welcome to relax here. We also have lots of books (about 200 at the last count ) , board games etc. Guests who visit this peaceful location are usually looking for somewhere to switch off - and it couldn't fit the bill better for that. But it is also a fantastic location for those who want to walk or cycle in the stunning countryside. We are just a few minutes from access to a stretch of the newly completed Algarve Way - the cross Algarve walking route. We'll be happy to pick you up from the end of your day's walk and take you to the start of the next leg. We also have bikes for hire for a nominal fee - please book in advance. If you really can't leave work at home we can arrange to allow you to check your emails for just a small extra charge. Mobile phones work very well...
