The silver in the name Silver Star represents silver halide - the chemical compound of silver with a halogen (for example, silver iodide, silver bromide or silver chloride). These compounds are responsible for recording a visual image on a photographic emulsion as a result of exposure to light. Each guestroom is named after an individual or organization that influenced the history of photography. Other than ten very special guest rooms with private baths the inn offers pleasantries such as original high quality fine art, massive fieldstone fireplace, wraparound porch, entertaining hummingbirds, lovingly prepared breakfast and dinner specials, perfect star gazing, hiking trails and bluff views.
