Vacation Bed & Breakfast Description:
description:Prospect Hill, officially known as the 'Charles and Annie Quinlan House' is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1866 Prospect Hill was the home of James Cassius Lowry Gudger, who had been an Officer in the Confederate Army, and subsequently of his daughter Annie Quinlan and her husband Charles. The house was constructed on the high point at the edge of the town which was originally known as Mount Prospect. Today the house has been fully restored and air conditioning and private bathrooms added to each of its bedrooms. Waynesville is located at 2800 feet on a high plateau in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, high enough to be above the humidity which plagues the eastern seaboard most of the summertime, we enjoy warm sunny days and cool evenings. It's an ideal location for a Bed & Breakfast weekend. The town is surrounded by a dozen or more 6,000 foot mountains. The Blue Ridge Parkway circles almost entirely around this county, and we're bound by the Smoky Mountain National Park on one side, and the Pisgah National Forest on the other. Mount Mitchell, the highest point in the US east of the Mississippi is just ninety minutes from our front door, and we're about mid-way between the Biltmore House in Asheville and the Harrah's Casino in Cherokee. On top of all that, its a really neat little town ;
